Developer tips for 'World of Warcraft: Cataclysm'
If you didn't know, we're quite smitten with Cataclysm, the third expansion for World of Warcraft from Blizzard Entertainment.
If you're also knee-deep in the MMO but need a little help battling baddies in Azeroth, we enlisted the help of J. Allen Brack, production director on the game, to provide a few tips and strategies for newcomers to Cataclysm:
-- Goblin and Worgen are now available to play! If you start a Worgen or Goblin, you'll find one-stop-shop trainers who can teach you any of the primary professions.
-- With the level 1-60 game completely revamped, including a new tutorial system, it's a better time than ever to begin playing.
-- When first logging in as level-80 character, you'll want to head to Stormwind (Alliance) or Orgrimmar (Horde) and find the Hero's Call Board or Warchief's Command Board to begin your quests into Vashj'ir or Mount Hyjal.
-- Many of the classes have been rebalanced and retuned. If you've played previously, you'll want to be sure to spend your talent points and assign glyphs.
-- Veterans will find that nearly every existing race has gained access to a new class, including dwarf mage, human hunter, troll druid, blood elf warrior, and tauren paladin, opening up new options to help make the levelling process feel fresh again.
-- Click on the magnifying glass on your minimap to select options that will direct you to common services like mailboxes or banks as you get close them.
-- Don't forget that you can fly in Azeroth now! Be sure to pick up your new Flight Master's License at your local Flight Trainer.
-- Our new community site holds a wealth of information as well as a robust search engine to help you find what you need to know more easily. Log in to your account on the site to unlock a host of features, including character, guild, and event information.
